Victor Rottier
Contemporary
Biography:
Victor Rottier, is a freelance dance artist from The Netherlands.Victor is currently working as freelance choreographer and director, touring with his piece Greywax 140. After receiving his education from Artez university of the arts Arnhem, The Netherlands he took part in the ‘Think big’ project in Hannover where he performed pieces from Maura Morales, Shumpei Nemoto & Company Idem. In 2013 he joined Club Guy & Roni’s Poetic disasters club, with which he toured and performed in Russia and The Netherlands.
From 2014 - 2018 Victor was a full time ensemble dancer with Staatstheater Kassel and performed pieces from Johannes Wieland, Hofesh Shechter, Maxime Doyle, Tom Weinberger & Helder Seabra.
Victor was working as Rehearsal director for Johannes Wieland at Staatstheater Kassel in Germany from 2018 - 2021.
During his time in Kassel he had the chance to make pieces with the dancers of the dance company at Staatstheater Kassel.
Victor is currently working on his own production which premiers in Bern, Switzerland in October 2024.
In addition to performing and choreographing Victor has been active as film maker and organises workshops for professional dancers & art institutions.
As a filmmaker he has been selected to show his film ‘Are as I’ at Lago film festival Italy, Screen dance festival Freiburg, Danceonscreen Graz.
Class Description:
These open classes consist of a deep focus on floorwork techniques, power distribution and personal creativity in set material.The goal is to provide technical tools to support you while digesting new information.I believe in a highly physical but sensitive approach to create a base on which we can take risks.This class is aimed to make you think, grind through the floor, sweat and trample on boundaries. And naturally, all of this will be complemented by carefully selected tunes!
